I’m gonna make this really short and sweet. I turn 40 this year and the reality of my mortality is hitting me hard. I’ve realized that over the last 39 years I’ve created some habits in my life that aren’t helping me today. I’ve slacked on my diet. I’ve slipped up on working out. And all of this has created some compromise in my emotional and physical health. And it’s not too late. I started to notice people online doing “75 Hard” and I thought it’ about time I jumped in.
But, I’m a theology and Bible nerd. So, of course I had to create a little twist in the plan. In addition to the work outs, healthy diet, and water intake I’m adding 10 minutes of Bible reading. It’s simple, and that’s the point. 10 minutes reading in print. Or even 10 minutes listening to the Bible. Think about this, if you read the Bible for 10 minutes a day for 75 day starting in Romans you will read through the entire Bible! You would read Romans through Revelation. Then you could take Acts, John, Luke, Mark, Matthew in that order (reverse) and it would be an awesome way to shake up how you read the Bible!
So, here is my invitation. Join me for 75 Hard: Humble Theology Edition. Below is a social image you can use to post each day and add your simple theology thought based on your Bible reading.
I’m starting Tuesday, August 26th!
Love the integration of physical, emotional, spiritual. It’s interesting how Romans 12 connects offering our BODIES as living sacrifices to the renewal of our MINDS which is done by the transforming power of SPIRIT. Since I workout at home, what I’ve been doing for the past year is integrating my Bible reading routine into my workout session to help me stay motivated: what I do is I read through the Bible between sets! What I like about it is it’s helped me keep off my phone or being bored during my rests haha.
