To really understand the Bible, we need to recognize that it is miraculously interwoven. In other words, it is a series of hyperlinks that point back to one another. The earliest hyperlinks set the stage for understanding the rest of the Bible. This is why Genesis 12 is so important. The story of the Tower of Babel sets the framework for the tension of the Old Testament, the Gods of the Nations, and the plan that God has to have his family back together.
