Dr. Joel, This: "courageous leadership that seeks restoration rather than condemnation." I hope and pray describes myself and my two co-leaders in our ministry that works with couples in crisis due to betrayal from Sex Addiction -- working with the betrayer and the one betrayed. The fact is, this type of sin DOES have a ripple effect and can impact not only the wife, but the family, friends, church, etc. All your points are right on! Admission/Ownership, Renewal/Repentance, Action/Restoration (a willing participant), and Demonstration -- As I tell my ladies that in order to build trust again, you must observe "believable" change without their words over a long period of time.

As always, your insights bring such clarity. Thank you!!!

Loved it!

Consider reading mine too, it talks about similar ideas and topics

We didn’t burn the gods. We just stopped calling their names. What if extinction isn’t just for animals? What if gods, cultures, and meanings fade not with violence, but with silence?
